The Bills have already gone out and done the hard part. They swung for the fences and landed a true, bona fide No. 1 receiver in Stefon Diggs after making a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Vikings.
Now it’s just a matter of finding out exactly what type of impact Stefon Diggs can have in Buffalo — and how quickly it will take him to assimilate.
One of the biggest downsides to having no spring practices is the lack of on-field reps, particularly when it comes to the passing game. Repetition is critical when it comes to developing timing and chemistry, and the Bills — just like very another team in the NFL — will head into training camp at a disadvantage in this area.
Luckily for Buffalo, Diggs isn’t entering his first camp with the Bills completely cold. During the spring, Josh Allen and the rest of Buffalo’s quarterbacks made a point to get together with several of the team’s wide receivers — including Diggs — for on-field workouts in both California and Florida. From all accounts, the two appeared to hit it off pretty instantaneously.
“I’ll tell you, this man loves to work, Allen said of Diggs. “He loves to get on the field and run routes and talk to the guys and explain how he’s running routes and explain what works for him to these young cats.”
