Five hot topics Bills fans are talking about
Bills Digest BUZZ Box

Bills Digest editor Mark Ludwiczak and editor-at-large Chris Brown weigh in on a handful of the hottest subjects Bills fans have been sounding off about in e-mails to our offices, radio call-in shows and Internet message boards. 1. What did the win over the New England Patriots mean?

CB: I’m afraid it didn’t mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. The Jets and Patriots are a combined 2-13 and the Bills were unable to resoundingly beat either of them over the past two weeks. That being said, the win over New England has put them in the driver’s seat to take the division as they now sit at 4-0 in the AFC East and still are a game and a half ahead of Miami. Buffalo remains in a good position from a divisional standpoint.

ML: It may not have been pretty, but I think I’m more optimistic about this one. The bottom line is the Bills are 6-2 and sit comfortably atop the AFC East after Sean McDermott’s first win over Bill Belichick. The Patriots are spinning their wheels, but the Bills still had to go out and beat them. They found a way and are in control of the division, so it’s not a bad place to be as we move past the halfway point.

2. At the midway point, what is the biggest concern with the team?

QUARTERBACKS: TOP AVAILABLE FREE AGENTS

Dak Prescott, Cowboys 6-2 • 235 pounds • 27 years old A solid starter who has a nice TD-INT ratio over his first five seasons (104-40), Prescott is an accurate thrower and very mobile. However, he’s coming off a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle, so it remains to be seen if this will impact his game moving forward.

Hunter Henry, Chargers 6-5 • 250 pounds • 29 years old A very talented player, Henry has had issues staying healthy, unable to complete an NFL season, including missing the entire 2018 season with a torn ACL. But when healthy, he’s a terrific all-around tight end who really connected with Justin Herbert in 2020 with 60 catches. Henry is very good at finding holes in zone coverage.
