Time To Glock And Load

Kevin Cudmore adds a new Umarex Glock 19x to his impressive collection
Time To Glock And Load

I finally caved in and whilst at my local range, RFD Countryside Pursuits in Melksham, I asked if they had any of the new Glock 19x non-blowback pistols in stock. ‘Nope,’ was the reply, but they could get one in and so next day, I received the phone call and picked it up for a very good price. Controversially for some, I deliberately opted for the non-blow-back version because I’d already bought a basic Glock 19 non-blow-back when they came out and was impressed with the power, shot count and accuracy. I couldn’t pass up a 19x being available in non-bloback and in tan, or ‘coyote’ as they call it now. It is definitely a different colour to the usual ‘desert tan’ and some have likened the colour to ‘baby poo brown’. The colour isn’t to everyone’s taste, but my collection reflects a sea of black guns, so I have developed a penchant for the coyote, with black accents.

The Umarex Glock 19X, comes in a nicely presented cardboard box, coloured to match the piece inside. You get the usual paperwork, the gun, and under the fold-out cardboard interior a Glock 19X patch.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY

The level of detail for a non-blow-back is great. All the controls, and the black bits on the real steel are here on the basic non-blowback, and all the black parts on the pistol are individual pieces, not just painted black and all for the same price as the original Glock 19 non-blowback. It utilises the same style of metal stick mag’ – I can hear the groans already – as the Original G19, but it’s longer, and so carries more shots. The manual says 19, but you can comfortably get 20 into it.
