Umarex Boys Club stalwart, Paddy Egan, takes delivery of a rather special Walnut LGV
THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

The night before the 2020 British Shooting Show, the contingent of UBC Range Officers and I had a meal with Umarex and John Rothery. The Managing Partner of Umarex, Eyck Pflaumer, was with us and during the conversation, he stated that they had a special gift for me. I was intrigued to say the least. Eyck explained that I had been awarded a Walther LGV in a unique walnut stock and there were only five being made. He told me I would be the first to receive one, whilst the other four were in his office ready to be awarded to people who have also supported Umarex in a positive way, and said that I deserved to be the first. I was blown away and couldn’t believe it. I was totally overwhelmed by Eyck’s and Umarex’s kind gesture! I couldn’t thank him enough.

A month later, a parcel arrived and lo and behold, it was my new Walther LGV. I took it out of the box and just stared at the grain of the woodwork – it is absolutely lovely. I am more of a military/camo airgun-oriented kind of guy, but I can appreciate a good piece of wood and I sure appreciate the stock on this LGV, that’s for sure.

The stock has a really nice shine to it, and the grain is like a two-tone tiger stripe. On the pistol grip area, the chequering is expertly done, with ‘Walther’ faultlessly carved beneath it and the blueing on the rifle is of a dark sheen finish.
