Dear Guru, I have a couple of questions about scope mounts, if I may. First, is it still as important to use super-sturdy mounts, even if you don’t shoot a springer? My new Daystate Revere is recoilless, so there’s no need for mounts than can withstand recoil, and these types of mounts are invariably more expensive, so is there really any need for them with a PCP?
My second question is about the gaps in the mount rings. Why do the experts always insist that these gaps are equal? Is it just a neatness thing, or is there a practical reason?
Thank you, Guru, and I hope I’m not being a pain!
