There’s an old adage in shooting circles that regularly does the rounds and it carries a simple message which underpins this piece – ‘Beware the man with one gun!’
COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST?
Many of us involved in the wonderful world of airguns are collectors, and that inevitably means building up a number of guns, often acquired just for the pure enjoyment of ownership. Of course for many, the enjoyment of just getting out and shooting different guns for the hell of it is enough – and why not? – but for competitive types like me, a vital ingredient is pitting our skills and ability against each other in either HFT or field target, at a variety of beautiful country locations, and this gives us a huge buzz, no doubt about it.
However, enthusiasts with a significant collection of hardware at their disposal, have a dilemma, and it can be problematic; namely, which rifle to use on any given day. Grab the FTP900 and Sightron combo, or opt for the MPR with MTC Viper? Each is capable of top-class performance, but will your body adapt quickly enough, from what was used last?
