These past few months have been a haze, with the world in the grip of a deadly virus, and a cloud of uncertainty prevailing all over. Entrepreneurs and small business owners suddenly found their business take a turn for the worse, as safety and social-distancing became the need of the hour. Photography is often pegged under the “non-essential services” bucket. Paradoxically, it is creativity and passion of all forms that has kept many of us in high spirits during these deflating times.

An HR professional-turned-entrepreneur, Rhucha is a full-time photographer. Spending over 7 years in various genres of photography brought her to create LifeinClicksPhotography, in 2017. She specialises in newborn, baby, maternity and family photography and is internationally accredited and trained ( in handling and posing newborns/infants. Having created beautiful memories for over 800 babies and their families over the past 3.5 years, Rhucha finds her high in her clients’ joy, when they look back fondly on the lifetime-memories that she has helped curate! The “fear psyche” prevails, yet, a new opportunity unfurls

The pandemic has brought forth our deepest fears and redefined our core beliefs and values. A looming fear has led people to adopt new ways of living. Uncertainty prevails, as there seems to be no end in sight. Yet, every cloud has a silver lining. Owing to the lockdown, we are spending more time with our loved ones, our closest family members. A new dimension of family-bonding has opened up as we take a step back from our fast paced lives and go back to the basics. The lockdown has also unleashed the hidden passions and talents of many. We have been watching our friends and family, indulging in latent hobbies and even discovering new ones, be it whipping up the latest MasterChef marvel, or painting the canvas vibrantly. Through the lockdown, many of us have emerged in new light - with new skills, new thoughts and beliefs, even rediscovered ourselves! This transformation in our day-to-day living and in our core selves deserves to be captured; the deep connections deserve to be preserved as ‘times-toremember’ forever! And that is where the opportunity for photographers lie, a chance to document these surreal times like never before! The genre of babyphotography and family-photography has opened up a whole new world, a new-normal with deeper connections and new meaning to life!

How to prepare for a family photoshoot?

The new normal is one in which we learn to live with the virus, at least for the near future. Fear pervades one and all, but fighting this fear with due precaution and action is the real test of time. As ‘photopreneurs’, it is critical to understand the current mindset of the client and prepare to make the client comfortable and confident about our capabilities, given the situation. Here’s how:
