Mumbai: While the state added 7,862 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, its highest single day addition so far, the number of cases in Mumbai crossed the 90,000 mark, with 1,337 fresh cases reported.
The total number of cases in the state are now 2,38,461, of which 90,461 are in Mumbai. The highest single-day addition of cases earlier was 7,074 on July 4. Maharashtra has 95,647 active cases and Mumbai, 23,035.
Maharashtra reported 226 deaths on Friday, taking the state toll to 9,893, which is moving towards the 10,000 mark. The city recorded 73 deaths, taking the toll to 5,205.
