Slight Jump In Cases Across State, Mum Follows The Trend

Mumbai: With testing numbers rising on Tuesday, volume of Covid-19 cases detected too increased in Maharashtra. In all, 5,439 new cases were found, taking the tally to 17,89,800. It was a marginal jump from Monday’s 4,153 cases.

Slight Jump In Cases Across State, Mum Follows The Trend

Mumbai, too, saw a fluctuation with 939 cases coming to light, a marginal rise from 800 diagnosed on Monday. Prior to Monday, the city had reported 1,000-plus cases for three consecutive days. Mumbai’s tally rose to 2,77,453 on Tuesday.

Active cases for both state and city showed an uptick. Maharashtra’s load rose to 83,221, while Mumbai’s climbed to 13,265. The BMC, however, maintained that the city had 10,666 active cases in all. Worryingly, Mumbai’s doubling rate declined to 218 days after touching over 300 days last week.

The overall growth rate between November 17 and 23 registered a marginal rise to 0.32% from 0.29% the previous week. Civic officials said of the 16,594 beds available in the city, merely 5,224 are currently occupied.
