Get tested or we will seal soc, BMC warns highrise residents
The Times of India Mumbai|September 26, 2020
Mumbai: BMC officials recently issued a warning to a Goregaon East highrise that if they are stopped from testing all residents for Covid-19, the entire housing society would be sealed for 14 days. The highrise has over 10 cases, said a senior official.

Another ward has requested asymptomatic residents to observe home isolation, and if unable to maintain social distance at home, asked them to shift to Covid care centres (CCC-2).

The BMC has adopted various such strategies to control the virus’s spread in buildings as the majority of cases are being reported from housing complexes now. Civic officials are also trying to maximize testing as each of the 24 ward offices has been told to conduct 1,000 tests, both PCR and antigen, daily.
