Maha To Give EWS Quota To Marathas, But Not In Jobs

Mumbai: In the wake of the Supreme Court’s interim stay on implementation of the Maratha quota, the state cabinet on Tuesday decided to allow the Maratha community to avail of benefits under the 10% EWS (economically weaker sections) quota except in jobs and admissions.

The benefits under the EWS quota include loan subsidy, matriculation and post-matriculation scholarships and funding for overseas studies, among other things.
