The COVID-19 pandemic has led to many professionals working remotely. While WFH has its advantages, it can also make you feel lonely. Alternatively, if you have a large family or more housemates, you’re likely to find it difficult to stay focussed. A recent survey conducted by a financial and professional services company reveals that 82% of office employees surveyed in India miss working from office, citing a lack of personal interaction as the primary factor behind this sentiment.

Surely, the office provides a culture that can’t be replicated via remote working and it is a place to share one’s goal and vision. We spoke to professionals to find out what is it about their offices that they miss while working from home.

Video conferences and calls can never replace in-person interaction. Going to work is healthy as you build a special relationship with your colleagues over a period of time. Most importantly, I miss my own personal space minus any distractions. Work hours gave me some ‘me’ time too. Working from home means there are no boundaries between your personal time, professional time and work hours. It is having a serious effect on the work-life balance.One has to be available 24X7,” says Rahul Ganatra, manager at an engineering company
