LIAM PLUNKETT already has a World Cup winners’ medal tucked away.
But the England hero is not ruling out adding some stars and stripes to his international record before he finally calls time on his playing career – and turning out to represent the USA.
Plunkett was a stand-out performer for England at the 2019 World Cup tournament and took three wickets against New Zealand in an unforgettable final.
Despite those heroics, it now looks likely to have been the 35-year-old Surrey star’s last match in England colours.
But having married an American – and with the authorities Stateside ready to welcome him with open arms – Plunkett might yet find himself playing in the World Cup again... for the USA.
