Starless Tamil Nadu Still Looks Strong

With showers expected in the coming days, teams will need to adapt

Teams will keep an eye on the weather as the Elite Group C matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one­day tournament get underway here on Wednesday.

It rained here on Tuesday and more showers are expected in the days ahead. The dynamics of rain­interrupted matches are different and teams will need to adapt.

Ten sides including Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Haryana will vie for two quarter­ final berths.

Intense competition

The group matches will stretch till October 11 and the competition is likely to be intense.

Given the number of teams and matches, as many as ve grounds — M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, IITChemplast, Murugappa, SSN and SRMC — will be used and the teams will have to adjust to different pitches as well.
