Jawahar tunnel blocked, road links to Valley cut; heavy rain improves Delhi air quality

Heavy snowfall in Kashmir triggered multiple avalanches that left two persons dead and disrupted road connectivity to the Kashmir valley on Tuesday.

Muhammad Rafiq, 25, and Sumerna, 12, were killed when an avalanche struck Trigam village near Ramban around 3 p.m., said an official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "However, two trapped women, Fatha Begum, 30, and Taja Begum, 32, were rescued from the snow debris," the official added.
