Did you know that the first-ever space experiment in India was done in Mary Magdalene Church in Trivandrum (now Thiruvananthapuram) in Kerala with the bishop’s office functioning as the workplace for scientists in the 50s as it was the only “decent” house then?!

Are you aware that scientist-visionary Vikram Sarabhai had sent bright young scientists U.R. Rao and Kasturirangan, who later went on to head the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to work in NASA in the United States so that they can learn the technology and help establish space technology here?
