The State government plans to have a common search committee to scrutinise applications and recommend names for appointment of Vice-Chancellors to universities.
At an interaction with presspersons on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan alleged that there was corruption in the appointment of Vice-Chancellors. He said there needs to be greater emphasis on quality while shortlisting names for the posts of Vice-Chancellor of State-run universities.
