Govt Procures 1.90 Lakh PPEs; Places Order For 80 Lakh More

NEW DELHI: At a time when the number of Covid-19 cases has crossed 4,000-mark, the procurement of 1.90 lakh personal protective equipment (PPEs) by the Centre has come as a major relief to all frontline workers, including doctors and healthcare professions, who have been risking their lives by treating COVID-19 patients without proper arrangement if PPEs.

The Centre on Monday received 1.70 lakh PPE coveralls donated by China. Along with the domestic supplies of 20,000 coveralls, a total of 1.90 lakh coveralls will now be distributed to hospitals and will add to the 3,87,473 PPEs already available in the country as of now, the Health Ministry stated in its official release.
