An aviation spat between New Delhi and Abu Dhabi has led to empty repatriation flights going from India to UAE, leaving scores of Indian nationals who are residents of UAE, not being able to return to that country.

A family has been separated ever since the lockdown. Ratna Vadapalli has been away from her kids who have been left to fend for themselves.

“I am a resident of UAE and came to Hyderabad just for three days and got stuck here because of the lockdown. My husband works at the Dubai port as a harbour pilot. He works on shifts and my children are all alone. They are managing their own food and school,” she told India Today TV from Hyderabad.

Her husband Captain Srinivas spoke to India Today TV from Dubai and said, “I work in shifts and it is becoming very difficult for me to handle my children, leaving them alone at home. We request the government to make arrangements for my wife Ratna to return.”
