Poonawalla family-led Serum Institute of India said on Friday it would receive $150 million (Rs 1,125.6 crore) in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the GAVI vaccines international alliance to make 100 million COVID-19 vaccine doses for India and other emerging economies as early as the first half of 2021.
Serum Institute said in a statement that it has entered into a new partnership with international vaccine alliance GAVI and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to accelerate the manufacturing and delivery of the vaccines.
