PEAKING late in the season, sprint star Dutee Chand improved her national record yet again this year at 11.22 seconds in 100m of National Open Championships in Ranchi on Friday.
The effort came in the semi-finals of the 100m which was followed by a gold in the final with a timing of 11.25 seconds.
Setting her personal best for the third time this year, the 23-year-old Asiad silver medallist’s timing came a fortnight too late as Dutee went out in the heats of the World Championships in Doha last month while cloccking a pale 11.48s.
It is worth mentioning that managing this record timing two weeks earlier would have confirmed her unprecedented semis spot at the world meet.
