Civilians' First Trek To Highest Battleground In The World
The first all-civilian group completed its first trek to Siachenbase camp in the Ladakh Union Territory this month.

The sevenmember team trekked over 100 km across soft snow, hard snow and morraine. Five civilian mountaineers and two ex-servicemen members of the National Adventure Foundation, a Delhi-based NGO embarked on the ‘Siachen—Warriors Path’ trek on September 16.

The trek, co-organised by the Bengaluru-based Go Magic Trails, led by a former special forces officer, Colonel Sunil Pokhriyal (retired) and Major Kulwant Singh Dhami (retired) former Vice Principal of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering,and ended on October 4.
