Why are we waiting to find new normal and a Government?

WELCOME to week 11 of the Covid-19 restrictions. And is it just me or is there a sense that, as a nation, we are rapidly approaching a giant “Well, feck this!” moment?

Why are we waiting to find new normal and a Government?

It feels like there has been a big change in attitudes since the start of Phase One and definitely in the past week or so.

You can see it on the streets and the roads. People are out there, they are shopping, meeting up, going for coffees and enjoying the outdoors.

But we are still stuck in Phase One. Phase Two doesn’t start until June 8 and in fairness, it’s not going to change much. You’ll still only be able to do feck all, but you can do feck all a massive 20km further away from your home.

And driving exactly 20km with the family to just stand in a random field and say, “Well, is everybody enjoying their new freedoms?” may not be classed as a necessary journey.
