So my own cabin fever was at an all-time high when I decided to head off for a solo staycation in beautiful Sligo for a weekend.
A holiday on my tod has never really appealed, but Covid-19 has definitely changed that.
Arriving in Connolly Station to board the train there, I was thrilled at the prospect of a few days alone just to recharge and relax.
Sligo is a fantastic destination not only for solo travellers, but for families and couples, with a fab foodie scene (check out Sligo Food Trail), spectacular scenery and a neverending list of stuff to see and do.
I stayed at the impressive four-star Glasshouse Hotel, which sits right on the Garavogue River, and is really central to everything that Sligo has to offer.
As soon as I arrived, I was immediately put at ease by the level of safety and hygiene restrictions in place.
