FOREST TRAILS REVAMP

A MASSIVE forest makeover will get under way this summer at the capital’s most popular walking trails.

The transformation of the Dublin Mountains will be the largest of its kind ever carried out in Ireland.

The works will be led by Coillte Nature, the not-for-profit branch of the group, and will have a positive impact on biodiversity in Ireland.

The project will see nine forests converted from commercial forestry to recreational use.

Those cited for conversion include, Ticknock, Kilmashogue, Ballyedmonduff, Massy’s Wood, Hell Fire Club, Cruagh, Tibradden, Barnaslingan and Carrickgollogan.
