Owens: Clubs MUST follow protocols

Two Waterford players have been tested for Covid-19 with the first returning negative yesterday while the other is still awaiting results.

The suspected cases led to the postponement of their Premier Division game with Sligo Rovers on Tuesday.

Water ford ’s doctor Sinead Fitzpatrick quit her role that night, claiming she had no choice.

Managers around the league have questioned if all clubs who signed players from outside the country are adhering to quarantine rules.

And they are demanding that the FAI police the matter.

And interim FAI boss Owens (inset) warned: “There’s too much at stake. Even for the travel of our international teams, they could influence that.
