Sign posters relating to the prevention guidelines for the coronavirus have been placed in almost all mosques in the emirate under the supervision of the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department (SIAD).
This is part of the measures that have been enforced ahead of the reopening of the mosques for worshippers. However, the date for the reopening has not been specified yet. Among those guidelines, are that each worshipper will have to bring a prayer carpet for personal use with a physical distancing of not less than 1.5 metres from all directions. In addition, face masks and preventives gloves must be worn inside the mosque.
SIAD has also organised workshops to educate Imams on the combating measures of COVID-19. It will continue to educate the people on the precautions with guidance from the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
The UAE Ministry announced on Monday that it has conducted over 30,000 COVID-19 tests, which revealed 635 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 35,192.
The total number of recovered cases of has reached 18,338 with 406 recoveries on Monday.
It also announced the death of two people due to complications, bringing the total death toll to 266.
