Ross Barkley underlined the reasons why he is Chelsea’s FA Cup special agent.

The England midfielder came off the bench to grab his fourth goal of the season – and three of them have been in the cup.

Chelsea was having a torrid time when boss Frank Lampard rang the changes at half-time and made a triple substitution.

He dumped the kids – Mason Mount, Reece James, and Billy Gilmour – and brought on Barkley, Mateo Kovacic and Cesar Azpilicueta, a move which came up trumps.

In the 63rd minute Barkley rammed home a left-foot shot after Willian found him with a cross and it was enough to write the latest chapter in Leicester’s catalogue of woe against Chelsea in cup competitions.
