You Can't Put A Lid On Collin's Talents

Paul Casey hailed Collin Morikawa as golf’s next superstar after claiming his first Major title at the US PGA in stunning style.

With seven players tied with six holes remaining at Harding Park, the 23-year-old American burst clear of the pack with a chip-in birdie on 14 then an eagle when he drove the 16th green.

He carded a bogey-free 64 in only his second Major to beat Casey and Dustin Johnson by two shots. The only mistake he made all day was dropping the lid of the Wanamaker Trophy as he lifted the title.

Former amateur world No.1 Morikawa, who only left college in San Francisco 15 months ago, joined Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as players who won their first PGA at the age of 23.
