THE first coronavirus vaccine is 94 per cent effective in people aged over 65, according to its maker Pfizer.

The pharma firm released new data on tests of the jab which suggest it’s even better than expected.

Pfizer and its partner BioNTech published interim results last week showing the jab could prevent more than 90 per cent of people developing Covid-19.

Further results gave a 95 per cent success rate which was “consistent across age, gender, race and ethnicity demographics”. The jab was more than 94 per cent effective in over-65s.
