Street bingo is brilliant fun – it helps the community feel good

BARROWFIELD Bingo started after a social distancing dance video we made for Facebook got a big response and we received hundreds of messages about it.

People were saying they wished that they lived in our street.

One elderly lady said she had been having really dark thoughts and it helped her. A man living on his own was going through a bad time in isolation and said what a lift it had been. That’s when I had the idea for the bingo.

Me and my wee team – Lorraine, Siobhan, Mel and my mum – got to work and before we knew it we were off with our first one on Easter Sunday.
