HIBS have opened fresh contract talks with star winger Martin Boyle.

Jack Ross is keen to tie down his man but admits the Australian will have big decisions to make with his current deal expiring next summer.

The 27-year-old has improved beyond recognition since joining on loan from Dundee five years ago, forcing himself into the Aussie national set-up and establishing himself as the Easter Road side’s top attacker.

He has already been the subject of interest this year, with Celtic having him watched back in January and Stoke reportedly sniffing around before a £1million price tag put them off.

But rather than cashing in, Hibs boss Ross said: “At the moment we’re in discussions with Martin and his representatives about trying to put something in front of him that would enable him to stay at the club.

“How it will unfold I obviously couldn’t say but it’s important we do our best to offer him the best possible deal we can.
