Racists May Rant But We've Badly Failed Asylum Seekers

When Police Scotland released a photograph of the perpetrator of the Glasgow knife attack on Twitter, a diatribe of racism ensued.

The thread became a feeding frenzy for the “send ’em back” brigade, with attacker Badreddin Abdalla Adam, a Sudanese asylum seeker, the bogeyman they have been waiting for.

Adam was shot dead by police but many more innocent black, Asian and minority ethnic men, women and children, not just asylum seekers, will be punished for his violence.

When a white person commits an atrocity, the white community doesn’t atone for its sins.
