Now Liverpool could win the title away to rivals City
HEAVEN CAN WAIT (AGAIN)

IT was a Merseyside derby. But not as we know it.

For all the shrill noise surrounding Liverpool ’s pursuit of the title, it turned out local rivalries are not quite so bitter without supporters.

Liverpool managed a semblance of control against an injury-hit Everton but it was the home side who had the best moment of the whole match, when Dominic Calvert-Lewin's cheeky back-heel flick from Richarlison’s cross was well saved by Alisson.

From the rebound, local boy Tom Davies thought he had scored the dream goal against the old enemy but somehow Joe Gomez got the faintest of touches to his shot and deflected it on to the post.

But Liverpool could wrap up the Premier League title at Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s men face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday – but if City beat Burnley tonight, the Reds can’t clinch their first title in 30 years.
