SLEAZY TWITTER SHAME OF TOP GUN COP

Police Scotland officer rapped over his ‘inappropriate behaviour’ online

A SENIOR gun cop has been accused of sending out “the wrong message” to female recruits after it emerged he follows a range of porn accounts on Twitter.

Superintendent Tony Beveridge has admitted his social media use was “not appropriate” after the Daily Record discovered he was following accounts such as “Chavbabes” and “Brithotties” on his public Twitter feed.

Colleagues were shocked at the accounts being openly followed by the Police Scotland head of armed policing.

When the Record contacted Beveridge to speak to him about his internet use, the sleazy accounts were unfollowed minutes later.

Last night, a police spokesman said Beveridge had recognised his internet use was “not appropriate”.

Supt Beveridge operated a public Twitter account under the user name @tony_beveridge.

Firearms officers told the Record they were concerned about the nature of the accounts he was following, which they described as “objectifying to women”.
