A three-year-old boy died in hospital last night hours after being hit by a car in the street.
Horrified witnesses say a red Kia hatchback mounted the pavement in Edinburgh’s Morningside moments before the crash yesterday.
The child was said to have been trapped by the vehicle. A woman, believed to be the boy’s mother, was also injured in the incident.
It happened outside St Columba’s Hospice charity shop in Morningside Road at about 2.30 pm.
Police confirmed last night that the boy had died following the incident on Morningside Road.
