Trump Hides As USA Explodes

As riots rocked the US in the wake of George Floyd’s police brutality death, the nation needed a wise, respected and strong leader to step up and defuse the tensions.

But under divisive Donald Trump, it has a President whose reaction was to stay out of sight and fan the flames of hate by spewing out incendiary tweets as he tried to pin blame for the crisis on critics and rivals.

And as the protesters he has whipped up into a frenzy laid siege to the White House, his failure became complete when he scuttled off to cower in a safe room in an underground bunker.

Trump hid with his family on Friday and was rumoured to have sought refuge again on Sunday.

Early yesterday, hundreds had converged on the White House, setting fires, smashing the windows of nearby buildings and overturning cars as they clashed with riot police. Some 50 Secret Service agents were injured and the White House was in blackout with almost all external lights off.

American flags were burned in the ugly scenes and police responded with tear gas as crowds kept advancing.
