Steep Fall In House Prices

The Nationwide building society said the average home lost 1.7% in value in May.

Data from HMRC showed the number of homes sold plunged 53% year-on-year in April. Mortgage lending has also slumped.

Estate agents have only recently been allowed to restart viewings.
