Having worked in the corporate sector for over eight years, Thrimuthi Dhanushka feels that people need to brush up their ‘professional presence’. This is not only the appearance but everything from communication, to being confident and having the right attitude to climb the corporate ladder. Professional presence therefore deals much more than etiquette and ethics.
“Three fundamentals in professional presence include Gravitas, Communication and Appearance,” said Thrimuthi in an interview with Women at Work. “Gravitas is where you need to have confidence and credibility to get your point across. It’s important to reflect you as a good professional. Communication too has a close connection to gravitas. On the other hand the appearance is not only about how you look but how you present yourself as well.”
