Tycoon who moved in a Playboy model loses his divorce appeal after ‘being left with £26,000'

Richard Rothschild, 45, moved a Playboy model into his flat after splitting from Charmaine de Souza, 46.

But he was left with just £26,000 after she was awarded £1.73 million – 98.5 per cent of their assets.

The pair, who ran a west London telecomms business, racked up over £1million in lawyers’ bills during their divorce, which a judge described as “the most destructive litigation”.

Mr Justice Cohen – who ordered the unequal split of their wealth last year – said Mr Rothschild had “brought it on himself” because his behaviour had caused “a huge and unnecessary haemorrhage of money” in legal fees.

Mr Rothschild’s fight to overturn the order has now been rejected after the Court of Appeal ruled it was “just and fair”.
