PC's Widow Tells Of Her Struggle To Cope With ‘The Sprawling Dark'

The widow of tragic PC Andrew Harper has revealed the “endless sprawling dark” she faced on the first anniversary of their wedding.

Lissie, 29, laid bare her heartbreak in an open letter to the husband, who was dragged to his death by three gloating thugs.

The couple had been married just four weeks when Andrew, 28, was killed while investigating a burglary last August.

Lissie wrote: “I will never again know love like that.”

Her outpouring of grief came as further evidence emerged of his killers’ callous and selfish behavior.

Albert Bowers, 19, complained that his arrest and prosecution made him miss his mother’s birthday.

The yob, who with Henry Long, 19, and Jessie Cole, 18, was convicted of manslaughter but cleared of murder, told Donna Bowers he cannot “wait to be back home with you”.
