Hound Leaders To Age Sick Savages

Occasionally I point out that, whatever we may be suffering, there are parts of the world where everything is vastly worse. If that is true for humans, it is true for animals in spades and those who complain that I sometimes give money from TV quiz shows to animal charities should read what follows. Those of a sensitive disposition should not.

Lockdown began with an anguished letter from a lady who has invested a lot of time and money in trying to save cats in Dubai and who has written to me about her efforts over the years. She told me that everybody was locked down and nobody was allowed out to go to the shelter to look after the cats, which faced a slow death from starvation. I never did learn the final outcome but hope common humanity prevailed.
