Boris Upbeat About Free Trade Deal Despite Divide
Boris Johnson insists he is optimistic about securing a free trade Brexit deal despite clashes between the UK and Brussels.

Negotiators warned that significant differences remain between both sides after the latest round of talks broke up early this week.

The EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier said there will not be a deal unless the bloc’s key demands are met.

Rival negotiators continue to clash over the EU’s demand to keep its access to UK fishing waters after Brexit.

It also wants the UK to sign up to the so-called level playing field rules that will keep us tied to the bloc’s laws.
