MICHAEL Kightly reckons lockdown has inspired him to come out of retirement and take on a fresh promotion challenge in the Southern Premier Central League.
The former Wolves winger hung up his boots last year after a two-season stint with Southend United.
But, having spent the last few months getting back into shape, the 34-year-old decided to return to action, linking up with Liam McDonald at Rushall Olympic.
“I was training on my own during the lockdown,” he said. “I have been retired for more than a year and, to be honest, haven’t kicked a ball in that time.
