DAGGERS LIMP OVER THE LINE
ANGELO Balan-ta’s solitary strike earned Dagenham & Redbridge their first win of the season at the expense of plucky newcomers Wealdstone.
Daniel Bennett

Balanta posed a constant threat to tjhe Stones defence and clinched the points midway through the second half after strike partner Paul McCallum had cut out Danny Green’s wayward pass.

It capped a memorable day for the Daggers, who unveiled new signing Charlee Adams and he was drafted straight into Daryl McMahon’s starting line-up.

And Adams almost made an immediate impact with an ambitious 30-yard strike but could only drag his tame effort wide of the target.

Jacob Mendy fired well wide from a similar distance for Wealdstone, who started well – captain Jerome Okimo volleying an effort wide from inside the area.
