Elvis rekindles memories in Stonington

STONINGTON—When Elvis impersonator Don Boudreau began to croon “Love Me Tender” at the March 5 Salt Air Seniors lunch at the Community of Christ Church, Edie Courville smiled and said, “That was one of my favorites.”

And Tim and Barbara Hutchinson got to their feet and held each other close as they danced a slow waltz.

“That was lovely,” said the Hutchinsons’ tablemates as they sat down. “Thank you.”

Between numbers, Boudreau shared Elvis lore with his audience—including the fact that his costume was called “The Powder Blue” and that Elvis only performed once in Maine.
