New Penobscot Pastor Felt ‘Call' To Small Town Maine
PENOBSCOT—After a year of interim pastors, parishioners of South Penobscot Baptist Church received a permanent placement with pastor Jake Clement’s official installation in September.

Clement, who grew up in Carmel and the Hermon Baptist Church, served as the interim pastor for the Penobscot church in March and June. While serving the second time, he and his wife Joy began conversations with the church’s ministerial search committee, during which time he expressed his interest in serving the church in a permanent capacity. The members of the church voted unanimously to make him pastor, and his service began September 1.
