Altered Scale
This month Jens Larsen of Fundamental Changes examines a great scale for adding tension and release over Dominant chords.

The Altered scale is the seventh mode of the Melodic Minor scale and one of the most commonly used when soloing over Dominant chords. Typically used over an Altered Dominant, it creates an ‘outside’ sound which is then resolved when the progression moves to the I chord.
