PGA TOUR 2K21
It’s been quite a while since we have seen a big-budget golf game arrive on consoles, with EA Sports’ Rory McIlroy PGA Tour last released in 2015. So it was a pleasant surprise when 2K Games announced they will be releasing the next big golf game, PGA Tour 2K21. 2K Games have become synonymous with big sporting titles, especially the superb NBA2K series, so a lot of golf fans were over the moon with the news. But has 2K got a hole in one with PGA Tour or are they stuck in a sand trap on the back 9?
As with any golf game in the past, the biggest question is how it plays and thankfully PGA Tour 2K21 perfectly captures the intricacies of the sport. With the inclusion of Pro Vision, Distance Control and Putt Preview, you have full control over where that little ball goes after your powerful swing. Of course for golf pro’s this will be easy to grasp and they will be sinking birdies left right and center. Fortunately, 2K has also thought about us golf newbies with handicaps so bad we are legally not allowed to print it. PGA Tour 2K21 includes real-time tutorials, tips and specific shot suggestions to allow you to look the Pro on every single hole.
The game itself looks amazing as one would expect from a big-budget 2K game. With world-famous courses from the TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, TPC Sawgrass, TPC Scottsdale, TPC Deere Run, TPC Twin Cities, East Lake Golf Club, and TPC San Antonio to name but a few. Real-world scanning brings the fairway, green, bunkers, trees, lakes and ponds to life. True-to-form PGA TOUR broadcast presentation features slick graphics, dynamic cut-scenes and a seamless replay system, all anchored by the play-by-play commentary of Luke Elvy and Rich Beem makes the game even more authentic.
