Born with large brown spots all over her body, Evita Delmundo was bullied at school. But after finding God’s love at a Christian camp she’s defying bullies by bidding to be Miss Universe.
A girl who was relentlessly bullied at school over her mole-covered body is defying her tormentors – by auditioning for Miss Universe. Evita Delmundo, 20, was born with the large dark brown spots covering her face and the rest of her body – as well as a black birth mark across her neck and shoulders.
Cruel classmates branded her a ‘monster’ and ‘chocolate chip cookie’ – leaving her heartbroken and shy.
But after attending a Christian camp, Evita – who decided against the risky surgery needed to remove the moles – learned to love herself. She has now taken the bold step of auditioning for Miss Universe Malaysia.
She says, “It was when I attended a church camp at the age of 16 that I really learned how to love myself and communicate with others. This was probably the first time I truly started accepting who I was, how I look.”
